Enough Edge

Short story, published in Visions of Hastings, published by Earlyworks Press in October 2010.

Sarah and David invite friends from London to spend a weekend with them at their second home in Hastings. But their visitors are unimpressed with the town.

'I'm sure it's great,' Jonathon reassured them. 'All I'm saying is, the place is a bit parochial for us.'
'It's very white,' added Claire. 'We've hardly seen any black people since we arrived.'
'It's just a bit too tame for us,' continued Jonathon, as he lit another joint. 'I like a place to have a bit of an edge...'
