In the UK, Peter has published articles in The Independent, The Daily Express, The Financial Times, the Sunday Times, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. In Australia and New Zealand, he has published approaching 100 opinion pieces in The Australian Financial Review, The Australian, Melbourne Age, Newcastle Herald, Canberra Times, New Zealand Herald, Adelaide Advertiser, Sydney Morning Herald, and the Brisbane Courier Mail. His report on reforming family payments was covered in the Daily Mail and the Daily Express, his work on social mobility has been covered in the Daily Mail , Daily Telegraph, Sunday Express and Financial Times, his critique of government child poverty targets was the focus of Dominic Lawson's column in The Sunday Times, his critique of 'The Spirit Level' (an influential book in leftwing circles) attracted repeated comment in The Guardian and was evaluated by The Economist., and his call for a strengthening of welfare conditionality has been commended by The Daily Express
